Getting to the cottage

For Sat. Nav. the postcode is DG5 4PZ, however that covers the hamlet of Portling so here are a few easy directions to help:-

From Dumfries take the A710 for approximately 18 miles.

Once you are past Sandyhills on your left, you will go past the Colvend Golf Course. Go approximately 250 yards further on, then look out for a small wooden bus shelter on left hand side of the road, which is situated at the turnoff for Portling (single track road).

After turning off for Portling, continue on past the Coastguard Station (on your left), past Portling Farm, round a slight right hand bend, keeping the triangle of grass on your left hand side, continue straight on UP the hill (do not turn left and go down the hill).

You will go past three large houses on your right. At the top of the hill the tarmac road finishes and continues on as a lane. Victory Cottage is the next property approximately 100 yards down the lane on your right. You will see the sign, the garage and car port are situated at the far side of the cottage where you can park.

If you call when you get to Dumfries you will be approximately half an hour away and we will arrange to meet you at the cottage and give you the guided tour!
